Text error in exporting to pdf

Post by Yatezz »

Hi. When I export a page containing large block of text to pdf there is a consistent error: Wherever a word contains 'fi' the i has jumped into the following letter, leaving a space where the i should be and merging the i with the following letter. I'm on a tight deadline so any help today would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Probably something to do with the font you are using, and the handling of spacing info in the software you are using (Draw, MacOS or the PDF viewer - be it the builtin "Preview", Adobe viewer or some third party PDF software).

In some dynamic fonts, "fi" is a digraph. If spacing info is lacking, or it is unhandled somewhere in the document's workflow, things like this can happen. Possible solutions: Use a different font, other viewing software, the most recent version of OpenOffice or change to LibreOffice.

That's great I'll try the different font option. Many thanks.

When faced with a problem like this, a good font to use for diagnostics is Times New Roman. Best to use a copy of your file, so you have a fallback position.
