Create a Watermark to use in Lightroom

Post by doug crann »

I am a hobbyist photographer. I do not have Photoshop, I use only Lightroom. I need to create a png file to use as a watermark. Has to have a transparent background. Have been spinning my wheels for several hours now. Is there any way to do this? It is simple enough for me to go into draw, enter the text I want. Problem is it saves it as a whole page document, I have no clue how to scale it down so it can be placed in the lower center portion of an image.

You can change the size of the canvas in Draw - simply go to Format | Page and set a suitable size.

Once you have created a smaller image with a transparent background, I would imagine Lightroom will allow you to overlay (underlay?) it in a suitable position on your image

File > Export. Choose PNG - it is the only format which permits transparency - and fill in the details.
