.SVM and break button

i made a graphic in open office draw and went to copy it into a new draw file that was a bigger paper size(8.5x11 then to 11x17) and i had grouped the image and converted it to a metafile then copied and pasted it into the new file but when i hit the break button to be able to edit it more than half of the image disappeared! can someone tell me why?!!
