When that "image" is a grouped object, then you can ungroup the objects, and you can select the individual objects.

Note: the AOO/LO Draw is a vectorgraphic application, but it is not a pixelgraphic image editor.
Thu can group, ungroup, combine, merge, substract, intersect the inserted vectorgraphic objects (shapes).


Or you can use the 'Crop image' function...
