[Solved] File conversion
I created a drawing with an image inserted. The program to which I wanted to upload it specified that it must be either JPEG or TIFF. I tried to Export it as both of these without success, the resulting file in both cases still having the extension .odg. How do I do this? Tx!

Re: file conversion
Make sure "automatic file name extension" is checked on the "Export as" window and select your target export format from the File format dropdown.

Re: file conversion
Thanks! Strange, though. The first time I tried it with the "automatic file name extension" box checked, it came out with .odg again, but then I changed the destination folder to Desktop," and it worked. Go figure!

Re: file conversion
Saving your work and exporting an image for a web site are two separate actions.
Make sure you save the document as .odg. Anything else will most likely not preserve your work faithfully.
When you need an image, use File > Export ... select the image type and file name, click "Export", then set the image parameters you want and OK.

Re: file conversion
Signals over. I made some changes to the artwork and tried again, per your instructions, but this time it didn't work. I'm afraid I'm at a loss again.

Re: file conversion
You are certain that you are using /File /Export as for your change of format, not merely trying to use /File / Save As to the target tiff or jpeg?

Re: File conversion
Note that if your pic is not full page, you need to select all and then export the selection only (this option is at the bottom of the export dialog).

Re: File conversion
I repeated the operation according to the recommendations of the last two posts, but with the same results, unfortunately. Other ideas?

Re: File conversion
Can you upload a screenshot of your export dialog?
Are you sure you look in the right place after the export operation? It may have been exported in another folder than the one you're currently viewing.

Re: File conversion
I think the latter is what happened. I'll have to wait a bit until re-enrtry is again possible to make sure that the graphic is accepted, and will let you know.

Re: File conversion
On checking. I find that /File /Export as stores the exported file in the "Graphics" directory, as set up in /Options /Paths.
