Hello,
I am trying to create a poster sized at A0 (840 x 1188 mm) using Open Office Draw. How do I go about doing this?

Re: Creating an A0 poster
Using Draw version 2.4.1...
First set Draw to use cm instead of mm. (For some reason the paper size measurement field does not allow numbers greater than 300.)
Menu selection Tools - Options, branch Openoffice.org Draw - General, the Unit of measurement field.
Then set the page size to A0: Menu selection Format - Page..., the Page tab.
... make your poster ...
When you request printout (unless your printer can handle the selected paper size, of course), you will get a warning and three options: trim, resize and print on multiple pages.
- Trim will print one sheet per drawing page, with as much of the drawing elements as will fit on the sheet in full size.
- Resize will scale the drawing down to fit the entire page on the available paper size.
- Print on multiple pages will do exactly that. You'll have to join the sheets by the edges to finish your poster.

User defined page size.
Open Draw and set page to A0; take the values (width, height) and fill in for a Writer page (properties).

Re: Creating an A0 poster
Writer in OpenOffice (don't know about Writer in LibreOffice) will only allow a line width of (from memory) 64 cm. Use Draw for your poster.
Edit: If you must use Writer, perhaps pick a smaller paper size and have it increased at printing time. |
