Hi folks,
Problem: when two objects are selected Modify>Alignment>Center always fixes the bigger object while the smaller is moved.
Preferred solution: A possibility to choose whether the smaller or th bigger one is moved
Description:
i just ran into a problem while drawing a nice little flow chart:
I have a cloud like object and an arrow connecting the cloud to a rectangular box.
Now i want to vertically align the cloud's center to the center of the box. My problem is Draw always moves the box slightly up to match its center to the cloud's center. Draw always seems to fix the bigger object in its position while the smaller one is moved.
I want that the other way round.. Is that possible?
Cheers
Phil

Re: How can one align the bigger object to the smaller one?
I think it's actually more complicated than that; in at least some cases both objects are moved, but that's beside the point.... Center always fixes the bigger object while the smaller is moved.
You can always protect the position of the small object--then only the large object will be moved.
Format > Position and Size > Position and Size > Protect > Position

Re: How can one align the bigger object to the smaller one?
Actually, Draw will align objects relative to the "surrounding box" for the selection (shown by the green handles). It often looks like the larger object takes priority, because that's more likely to touch both bounds of the surrounding box in the alignment direction.
Solution: Right click on the object you want fixed, and select Position and size. Then under the Position and Size tab, in the Protect section, tick Position.
It works most of the times I've tried, but not always.

Good point!... Draw will align objects relative to the "surrounding box"...
