I know this is ridiculous and I will feel silly when I get the answer, but I can't find how to insert text in Draw. The "T" icon is not visible and there is no menu item (that I can find) for text.
Someone help me please!!
Thanks,
Mick Berg.

Re: Can't find Text
The T icon should be in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

You may need to /View /Toolbars and select Drawing toolbar if it has no checkmark.

Re: Can't find Text
You want to get the Drawing toolbar--you can't do much without it--but you can also insert text without it:
Copy the text to the clipboard, then paste into Draw. If you're copying from within OOo, for example, from Writer, you may need to use menu: Edit > Paste Special, As unformatted text. Pasting plain text into Draw creates a normal text box.
Alternatively, if you need to type the text, you can crate a text object like this:
(in Draw) press F2, then use the mouse to drag out a rectangular area (end with a click) then type your text.

Re: Can't find Text
OK problems solved.
Thanks everyone.
For some reason the T icon was unticked, strange, since this was the first time I had used the program, so this was the default condition.
Mick Berg.

In OO Writer, you have to enable the Drawing toolbar to get to the text tool.
Either View > Toolbars > Drawing: ON
Or click the Drawing Tools icon on the main toolbar (looks like a pencil, drawing a line)
The Drawing toolbar appears at the bottom of the window, under the editing area.
