OO Draw file does not print to correct size

Post by wkoester »

I have two almost identical files in Draw. Both are framed in a 12" wide by 6-1/4" rectangle. The one file, however, does not print 12" wide or as high (about 11-3/4" by 6") as the other file. I have checked the printer setup and can't find anything different. I have also tried two different inkjet printers. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am using OO v2.2 on a Windows XP sp2 platform.

Thanks,

You may have an invisible (or nearly invisible) object outside that frame. Draw is scaling everything to fit on the paper page, so the drawing prints smaller.

If you do Edit > Select All (Ctrl+a), do you select a larger area than the frame?

What paper size are you using--does the frame fit within the paper-size?

Good suggestion but unfortunately it didn't help. There are no objects outside the frame. I am printing on 8-1/2 x 14" (legal) size paper in landscape orientation.
I tried upgrading to OO 2.3. This hasn't helped either. Very strange.
Thanks for the response.

You mentioned printer settings, but did you set the page style to legal size?
Cheers!

Thanks,

Yes, I have legal size paper selected. The image fits on the page, it just won't print to the specified size.

Were the images created in Draw or were they pasted or imported from other sources?
What exactly do you mean by their being framed in a rectangle?
Cheers!

The file was created in Draw. It consists of a series of rectangles with 1/16" spaces between them. The small rectangles represent the buttons for a cash register and together form a roughly 12 x 6-1/4" area rectangle that is the outside border or "frame" of the file.

I went ahead and edited the other file that still prints out correctly (see original post) to make a new file which also prints correctly.
