Freeform Lines in Draw

Post by michaelveloz »

Hi there

Im trying to pick the best tool to do free-form hand-writing in Draw.

I'm picking the Free Form line tool under the Curve object, but it doesn't seem to be a good match - this tool doesn't exactly let you draw a freeform line.. it wants to round out all the angles, making handwritten text very squishy and pretty much impossible to read.

Is there another tool that *really* lets you draw a freeform line, like a Pencil tool?

Michael

No, the "free-form line" tool is as close as you get, and as you say, it's not really a free-form line at all.

You may want to use a bitmap image editor (OOo doesn't do this), then you can insert that into Draw and convert it to a set of vectors.

You may also want to look at Inkscape (http://www.inkscape.org): it's a far more capable tool for graphic arts. It has very good support for freehand drawing in a vector format.
