Printing specific size across multiple regular size sheets

If I wanted to print a 9x12 or 16x20 picture over however many sheets of regular 8 1/2 x 11, or letter, sized printer paper to then tape together to form a poster how would I do this?

I don't think these will work but I will check. Doesn't seem to be a way to control the exact size of poster to be printed.
