Selecting multiple shapes
How do you select both shapes? If I select one of the shapes and then try to select the second shape, it unselects the first shape. So when I go to Modify, Shapes, Merge, the Merge is grayed out as not an option.

You can click on the first shape then hold the Shift key and click on the second shape.
