[Solved] Resize organizational brand logos

Post by Ohiiogirl48 »

I want to resize an organizational brand logo. I"ve tried the instructions provided to me by my organization (Resize). According to those instructions, it says to save the file as a jpg file but it automatically wants to save it as an ODF Drawing (.odg) file. What do I need to do to save this logo as a jpg file?

The menu File -> Export allows saving in the jpg format.

Thanks. I tried that but got this error message: Error saving the document. Write Error. The file could not be written. What does that mean and what did I do wrong?

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Computer graphics can be classified into distinct categories: raster graphics and vector graphics
Draw is a vector graphics editor. If your logo is an image file, say JPG format, Draw is the wrong tool for this task. To resize an image you want a raster graphics editor. GIMP is an excellent raster graphics editor and the download is free.
Comparison of raster graphics editors

If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit button and add [Solved] to the start of the title. You can select the green checkmark icon at the same time.

Thank you for this. I tried to download Gimp but I get the message "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settins page." What app do I need to download Gimp?
