[Solved] Multiple Drawing Sizes

Post by Horse »

I use OpenOffice Draw for drawings (mostly for books). It is often the case that I want drawings of different shapes and so far the only way I've found to do this is multiple .odg files. For example a typical book has front cover art usually about a cm wider and taller than the book size. It has a spine that is more like 1 cm wide and a cm taller than the book. Finally, the back cover art is often 3 cm shorter than the book height to allow room for the ISBN. Is there a way to have several "slides" of different sizes in one .odg file?

The Draw application can handle only one page style per document.

But you can copy the created drawing objects into a Writer file. The Writer can handle more than one different page styles.

Or you could use the one page size, which includes all the extra pieces, and leave the unwanted areas blank

Thank you. As usual you guys answer questions so quickly, you're wonderful.
If only we had the ability to draw in Draw instead of only making a presentation ...

There is a list of drawing programs at

When I used Windows (10+ years ago) I used CorelDraw, but my days of heavy graphics use are now over.
