[Solved] Fontwork: Individual Colors For Characters?

Post by lmstearn »

Hi there,
Don't think that is possible so it's just an addition to a wishlist for this great application- ... unless there was something missed.
Thanks. :)

Are you asking for a method to make each and every character a different colour?
If so try under Format -> Character
You should get a dialog box with a lot of options on each of 3 tabs.

If this isn't what you're looking for, please try enhance your description.

As to making an addition to OpenOffice, this forum is not the spot for making requests, however, they can be made via https://openoffice.apache.org/bug-tracking.html

You can use a horizontal/vertical (or specially paralell with the actual text direction) gradient between two individual colors as Area property. It looks like more than two colors.

@Zizi64: Thanks, that helps.
Filed a Bugzilla request. Perhaps a fair way down the track, as Fontwork performs well enough in AOO at present.

Resolved:
Convert your Fontwork object into curve
Then ungroup to change color for each letter
Selecting the letter (green dot frame), then an item from the Area Style/Filling colour dropdown box changes the colour of the letter.

Hi again! :)
In 4.17, there doesn't seem to be any way of converting a Fontwork object to curve any more. It only allows Bitmap and metafile. Just for fun, the object was converted to metafile, after which all the conversion options appeared on the menu. So far so good,- upon which the attempt to convert the converted object to curve caused AOO to crash.
Something is missing, thanks for any new leads!
