Number of search items

I use the document "search" field quite often. I find it problematic that it retains such a short list of maybe ten recent searches. Could there be an option to have this retain an indefinite list of recent searches, or at least the last 50? Sometimes I want to go back to a search I did an hour ago but the item has been lost from the list. If I remember the item I will type it in, but things are not always that easy.

The list is kept for the session. if you close AOO, it is reset.
