Server upgrade

Post by Hagar Delest »

Dear All,

For the record, I sent a PM to the NL admins yesterday:
According to the dev mailing list, the forums will be upgraded soon. That should at least greatly improve the responsiveness of the boards.
Could you please check and report to the dev mailing list if you see any problem?

The discussion: https://www.mail-archive.com/dev@openof ... 34035.html

You can try the test site and report any glitch that has not been reported yet.

Thanks

I suppose that we only need to report problems on the NL forums that are specific to them. I found that I can't post messages, same error as you already reported for the English forum.

Yes. I may have missed other bugs also. I did not test all the actions I guess.

Hi, I'm not accusing you of anything, I'm just suggesting that we don't send redundant mails to the developers list. You're doing very well as always. :super: :bravo:

I did not take your post as such, don't worry!
You're right, only redundant bugs are worth reporting. I made a check but not a thorough one (didn't check the attachment feature BTW).

Sorry, I see (as an administrator) the Italian forum equal to the current one.
The php88 version remains outdated, I still see 3.0.9 instead of the recent 3.0.14.
Can you help me? Thanks.

The log in the English forum works, but now the Italian one does not work (white web page).
The reply by email to David Fisher does not work (white web page). How can I communicate this problem? Thank you.

I believe that only the hardware has been updated. The phpBB will be changed later. At least that is what this message from June 19 says:
"Hi Forum Admins and interested parties,

The AOO PMC with help from Apache Infrastructure will be migrating and upgrading the Forums through the end of June.

This will proceed in two phases.

(1) Copying the current setup to new VMs. This should be ready to test on Thursday evening US time. I’ll need thorough testing of several of the forums by the admins. The version of the forums being tested may be from early May. I will be available in case any dependencies were missed. Look for details when ready on this thread.

(2) After the initial tests are complete the new VM will be upgraded to the latest phpBB. We will need to test that as well.

(3) Assuming all goes well then over June 30th weekend we will shutdown the current forum vas and migrate the data to the new, upgraded VMs.

Any questions? (I may not answer until Thursday.)

Regards,
Dave"

Thank you for your answer FJCC.
Unfortunately I do not have access to these informations despite being the only active administrator of the Italian forum.

The log-in the Hungarian forum works - I can log-in as a global moderator.

But when I want to sort/filter my posts on the "View your post" / "Saját hozzászólásaim" page, the filter and the sorting function (located on the bottom of the page) not worked. It appeared - I think - all of the existing topics in a random order.

And I can not filter - by time - (even without logging-in) the content of the "Active topics" / "Aktív témák" page.

Please, edit the initial post in the topic: add the word [Solved] at the beginning of the subject line - if your problem has been solved.

I can log in as a normal user (password with normal characters).
I can not log in as administrator (password containing the "_" character).

I can access the moderator control panel but the moderator logs stays sorted by user name, no matter how often I tell it to sort by date from most recent to oldest. Can anyone confirm that?
Listing a user's posts and sorting by title or message subject also doesn't work, it resets to sorting by user name.
Trying to post a new thread results in an error (text in message box is deleted, text in subject box isn't).
When I tell to log me in automatically, that setting isn't saved.
I can log in on the admin panel, haven't tested anything there so far.

Have not yet heard of anything. I thought it would have been migrated (I was off line last week).
I've just sent a mail to the list.
Will be off line again the next 4 days.

I think it have been migrated.
Yesterday in the afternoon I had log-in problems in the Italian Forum, just like the test forum. My admin password was always wrong! (it has some "_" characters).
Fortunally, I solved with another admin ID (pw without "_").

Do you see any responsiveness improvement? I don't see any on the EN forum.
No news on the ML.
