A New Icon

Could we use a new icon, reserved to Volunteers+, which means "Look at this posting for the answer"?

The problem is that the icons are a forum-based characteristic.
You're looking for something to tag the most relevant topics?
Perhaps there is MOD for that but there are already at least 2 easy changes to be done on the forum (download button and display results by topic) but imacat is busy. I think we should wait before discussing forum improvements...

As a workaround, could a FAQ topic be useful?
I mean: a single topic, each post about an application (like first post = Framework, 2nd = Writer, 3rd = Calc, ...) and in each post the different links we find.
1 post per application to avoid too many space lost, to be edited by moderators when someone notice a good candidate.

Any of the above would be good: alg's post

earlier today brought this thought to my mind. It would be interesting to know what others think.

I'm not sure how this would work. In many (most?) cases, there isn't really one best answer--that usually depends on the user's exact situation.

In the example you mentioned, I'm not sure that alg's suggestion is the solution--it's a clever workaround, but still somewhat different than what I understood the OP was after. But without some feedback from the OP, we'll never know.
