Hello,
I have important text in a document that was saved in .docm format. I need to retrieve the text, I don't need any formatting or anything like that. If I could just get the text out of it that would be great.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Outside of OpenOffice, rename to .docx and it should open for you. I got the attached

Thanks for the help. That doesn't seem to recover all the text that occurs after the error. This is the error I get when trying to open it:
"SAXException: [word/document.xml line 20]: Namespace prefix pic on bodyPr is not defined"

Someone using different tools, that don't run on my computer, may get the full content.

After adding xmlns:pic="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/drawi ... 06/picture" in the w:document properties, LibreOffice seems able to reread the file...
OpenOffice 3.4 with MacOS 10.6
