To Edit a Master Document ?

Post by sparxz »

I have been following the Online help: "to edit a Master document".
And found below.

Working with Master Documents and Subdocuments
https://help.libreoffice.org/Writer/Wor ... bdocuments

I have followed instructions:

To Edit a Master Document -
Use the Navigator for rearranging and editing the subdocuments in a master document.
To open a subdocument for editing, double-click the name of the subdocument in the Navigator.

But this does NOT work. Is it a bug, some setting I have missed.
Could LibreOffice give some hints for people who might want to edit a document ?
I started using Master documents because my files were getting large, and I thought
master Documents would help me manage.
If I cannot get this working, I will go back to plain ODT, to have some functionality.

Thanks

How doesn't it work? Please be explicit.

You can open the sub documents directly and edit them, your edits will show in the master document.
