Apparently, the indispensable Memory settings have been deleted or hidden in LibreOffice 6.0, which I've just installed.
It's one thing to see the dangerous Microsoft path ("There's an extremely useful setting for power users that most users don't use and don't understand. Let's completely delete it!") in effect, but more importantly the Memory settings are absolutely indispensable and are probably the most useful option that there was in the entire package.
With Writer documents with high numbers of anchored graphics, they are absolutely crucial when swapping such documents between systems and terminals, for instance.

meaning that rather than enabling easily accessed simple configuration (in MB's), supplemented by more precise configuration, LO has deeply buried this long-established basic option, thus leaving tweaker users to try to find out where it went (Help is not much help) and drill down to it, and then calculate what 400000000 equates to, as if users are to be discouraged from changing this and making years of instructions on changing the memory incorrect. But it was debated, and thank God for those who make LO and such tools for good use.
