Restricted and/or Unrestricted Documents
I am helping my husband with some forms that he has to fill out and submit at work. He has sent me the documents that he has that are in Microsoft Word (.doc). I then opened the documents with LibreOffice and "x"'d the shaded boxes on his form that needed to be answered...saved the file and sent it back to him. The problem that is occurring is he then is using his program Microsoft Word and then he can not use the function that lets him tab back and forth from restricted to unrestricted so he do any further or future editing on the documents on his form in Microsoft Word. It's not allowing him to fill in or re-edit various fields (i.e. change the marked boxes). Is there something I can do in LibreOffice (turn something on or off??) or something in the tool bar or save it differently so that this does not happen? I am not very computer savvy so please explain thoroughly if you can. I REALLY need any help available or any suggestions available. Thank you very much.

Re: Restricted and/or Unrestricted Documents
LibreOffice and Word are not 100% identical, this may explain the different behaviors of Word on the original document and the one modified by LibreOffice. Not much we can do, I can only suggest that you subscribe to Microsoft Office 365 (first month free if I am not mistaken, may vary with the country) and edit your document from there.

An other solution is to work with PDF, if it is just a form that needs to be filled in (save the document as PDF and send it back). You might find an PDF viewer with annotation capabilities and fill in the form, there are many available (I'm using PDF-XChange for this).
