Slide show playing issue

Post by sanjeeme »

Dear Friends

I got a problem with my OO impress recently. When I run the slide show screen will freeze and stuck and I can't do anything since then until I restart the PC. I update the OO to newer version (4.1.3) but problem remains same. I used original Windows 8.1 OS. Can you help me rectify this problem.

Best Regards
Sanjee

Try /Tools /Minimise Presentation to make a copy version of your presentation optimised for display. It is possible that one or more of your insertions is at to great a resolution.

I know that the SEH problem has been reported for some Windows installations, but as I don't use Windows I am not au fait with a fix,

- Are you using the native ODF filetypes, or foreign filetypes?
- Have you tried your files with LibreOffice?

I update the OO to newer version (4.1.3)

There are some suggestions in this bug report which may be helpful; if not you might add a comment that the problem still exists, or open a new bug report.

This is critical issue we facing here and hope some quick solution. Please let me know if you want anything regarding this issue.

We cant play any presentation file in impress.
Can you open the presentation files in the Impress application with menu item
File - Open - ... ?

Have those files native .odp format, or other (foreign) format/s/?

Can you upload a problematic presentation file here?

Yes, we can open and edit slides without problem (all menus are working). But when we going to run the slide show (F5 or using Slide Show Menu) application got stuck without playing one slide.

The problem remains same even we use .odp format or foreign file format.

There are no special file to mention, all presentation files had a same problem even new presentation file has same problem when we going to run the slide show.

A quick workaround is to /File /Export as PDF the presentation; this at least shows the slide content, but transitions and multimedia are not handled.

I suggest renaming your OpenOffice user profile on one machine to see if this helps.
As you are using Windows close OpenOffice and the Quickstarter. Open File
Explorer. Copy and paste %appdata%\OpenOffice\4 in the File Explorer (sometimes called Windows Explorer)
Address Bar and press Enter. Rename the "user" folder - "user.old" is a
good choice. Start OpenOffice.

It is possible that there are hung OpenOffice processes. Start TaskManager (Ctrl Shift Esc) and kill any "soffice" processes shown on TaskManager''s Processes tab (Details tab on Win 10). Then start OpenOfdfice and see if a presentation will display.

Actually it is not one file, We can't run any presentation. Even new presentation. We can crate and apply all animations but when we going to play (any presentation file) it will stuck and give error message which showed in the screen shot. Therefore I can't say one file all file were gave this error.

Start Windows in Safe mode; if presentations run correctly in this mode the problem is caused by some driver or program that runs in Windows normal mode. Obvious candidates are firewalls and antivirus programs, but there can be others.
