Cannot Find PDF

I exported a slide as a PDF. The default location is "Gallery" but I cannot find it.
How do I retrieve items from the gallery on a Mac (OSX)?

Export another (or the same) slide as PDF and note the path to the folder used. You are driving the computer - it won't think for you.

The is no path shown, simply the name "gallery".

Check the path of the 'gallery' in the
Tools (preferences) - Options - OpenOffice - Paths

I found paths under OpenOffice/Preferences.
But the path shown does not appear in the Finder (in fact the PDF that disappeared does not appear in the list of recent documents).
Are these paths hidden?
