[Solved] Insert a square or circle

Post by Huodiwen »

Greetings

I would like to insert a map into a presentation and then add a square or circle to highlight a certain area.

Can someone tell me how to do that?

Thanks.

What have you tried that didn't work?

Your description pretty much fits the process: Insert > Image > From file ...

Create a shape object from the Drawing toolbar and position it over the image.

Create a shape object from the Drawing toolbar and position it over the image.
...You can use an "empty" shape, or a colorized one with transparent area property.

Pardon my ignorance, but how do I create an empty shape? I got as far as being able to draw a black line on the blue background, but I wanted a rectangle, and it on the map...

I used the line button in the bottom left of the screen.

Thanks for the help so far...

Jut put a blue background shape onto the map picture, and then right click on the shape. In the floating menu you can adjust the line (color, width, visibility) and the area (none/color, transparency).
