Controlling audio in Impress??

I have been using MS Powerpoint 2003 to create my presentations. I am able to insert music and control when it will start to play and across how many slides I would like it to play. This appears in the custom animation pane along with all the other text animations. Very easy!

I then began testing Impress as an alternative presentation program.

I can add music to my presentation but I have no control over it. I can only get it to play when that slide appears and for only as long as the next click. It does not appear in the custom animation pane like Powerpoint. I would like to be able to play the music over a number of slides.

Also any of my Powerpoints that I open in Impress, the sound is lost altogether. The speaker icon appears as a bitmap graphic only but not linked to the sound file.

Does anyone else have this same problem? Does anyone have a solution or is Impress unable to handle audio in this way?

Does this thread at least explain part of your problem ("I can only get it to play when that slide appears and for only as long as the next click"): http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... f=5&t=1619
