Re: slide transistions
My 10 year daughter has made slides in Impress for a project. She wanted a power point so here we are. her teacher does not want a simple click to change presentation, rather the transition effects. I have tried slide transition and custom animation. But nothing happens when I click either

Re: slide transistions
This works for me.
With the presentation open, select the menu item View Sidebar.
Select a slide in the left pane to which you want to add a transition.
Select the menu item Slide Show -> Slide Transition.
The Sidebar will now show a list of slide transitions with No Transition selected.
Choose a transition. I chose Wipe Right
Below the list you can modify the transition's speed and add a sound. I didn't try the sound.
In the Advance Slide section you can choose to have the slide change on a mouse click or after a set time.
Choose to apply the transition to all slides or not.
If you start a slide show, you should see the transition.
