Hi,
I have a problem that is quite troublesome for me. Everytime i go to lets say slide 15, when i click on the slide itself to edit the content and go back to the slide bar on the left side to select another slide, it always bring me back to the first slide all the way up.

It is very troublesome as i have to keep scrolling down to find the slide i just edited and continue. Is it possible to disable this function?

I believe this problem was fixed--at least I don't see it in the current release (OO 4.1.1).

Which OO version are you using?

If you're using 4.1.1, what steps are you following to see the problem?

Yep, it works, but only sometimes.

sometimes it works, but sometimes, the problem comes back. I dont know what i did and what happened, i just do the same editing, click on slide.

It also jumps back to the first slide when I switch from the Notes tab to the Normal tab. Very annoying. I'm using 4.1.1.

Sooo has anyone found a way out of this? I believe I have the most current version so if it's a bug it is apparently still here? I use Notes to take notes in class on the slides as my professor goes through them so I waste valuable time searching for the slide I was supposed to go to next while the professor continues talking.

I'd be surprised if anything happens without a recipe for consistently triggering the problem.

Under the view menu, there is a navigation option. It brings up its own box, and you can click on the number slide you want.You can position it parallel to the slide bar, so you can see what you want, then try to click the right thing in the navigation box (mine doesn't have only numbers for some reason-some slides have names instead, but the presentation I'm working on was given to me by someone else, so who knows what they did) The navigation pane takes up some space, but I think it will save time over constantly scrolling.

Have either of the updates the last year corrected this annoying issue?

I can not believe that this issue hasn't been addressed and don't know how anyone can continue using OO with this problem. Would drive anyone mad.

I switched to Libre Office because of it, but would switch back if it was fixed.

Just now tested - worked OK on OO 4.1.3 on xubuntu 16.04

Still happening for me, about one-third of the time. Shouldn't happen at all. And it (sometimes) happens when I go from the Normal screen to the Notes screen, and vice versa.

Does not happen in Libre Office.

Anyone know how to solve it? My case is the same

Sorry, I don't think there's any fix for it. You may be able to avoid it but I'm not sure how, exactly.
