After restart Impress Information lost

Hello,
ich habe the following problem:
I have a background-picture saved on the master-paper. When I save the presentation and start Impress new, the background is missing. The Masterside I saved lost the background-picture. I have a text-size animation. I gave the resize value 50%. After restart Impress it turned to 0%, the text don't change the size.
Can s.o. tell me what I've made wrong?

Are you saving the presentation as MS Office (i.e. .ppt)?

If so, try saving as native OOo format (ODF; .odp).

I have the same problem.
OOo 2.4.1 german on Windows XP (english)

Set the master background, saved the file in native format, closed and reopened it -> background was gone

Setting a master background certainly works for me.

What kind of background did you use (image, color, gradient...)?

What OOo package are you using--does Gentoo build OOo from source, or have you downloaded the package from OO.org?
