[Solved] Spell checker in text boxes

Post by stuartm »

We have an unusual problem where the spell check does not work in many of the text boxes that we create. It also doesn't work in the "heading" text box created via the templates. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Open the Stylist (F11), right click the Default entry in the Graphic styles list. Go to the Font tab. What's the language? Dos it have a checkmark?

ok, the language is English (Australian) and it does not have a checkmark next to it (I assume by checkmark you mean the little abc symbol).

Indeed going through all the styles and making sure they are English (UK) which has the "abc" symbol next to them resolves the problem. Would be good to have an "abc" symbol next to the English (Australian).

Then install that Australian dictionary. Try with the wizard and if it doesn't appear in the list, see the wiki page I've linked in the tutorial.

I would be interested to know the difference between English (UK) and English (Australian)?

No idea. Follow the links on the wiki page and ask the Australian dictionary guy.
