Using OpenOffice for Microsoft Office powerpoints

Post by Guttata »

Hey there,

I have been having the following issue lately:

Whenever I download powerpoint presentations from my instructors, they open up in OpenOffice 2.4, but the text always gets reset to this default= CALIBRI font. Very Annoying! When studying, this is not an ideal font for reading detailed information.

It only has occurred lately and I think it is related to a new Microsoft Office release? It didn't happen when I got it and seems to work other wise well. I end up having to highlight all the text and changing the font just to make studying more productive.

Thanks if anyone can diagnose this problem!

Many people like these fonts in terms of readability, but others dislike the license.

You can Install Calibri and Office 2007 fonts for use with OpenOffice.org. Does that help?

Have you tried to activate the Fonts replacement feature? Tools>Options>Fonts.

Thanks to add '[Solved]' at beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

NB: moved the thread to the Impress forum.
