Dual Monitor support for keyboard

Post by eteq »

I'm trying to show a presentation on a second monitor attached to a laptop, but I can't seem to get the presentation to accept keyboard commands (e.g. page down to advance the show) - only mouse events seem to be captured by the second screen - instead, all keyboard events go to the main Open Office screen (e.g. the main screen will page up or down, but not the secondary monitor). How can I convince the second screen to start changing slides via keyboard commands?

I can't test this at the moment, but I believe the problem is that the show runs as a separate process, and keystrokes go to the process that has focus. You have to somehow get the focus to that "window" on the second monitor--either by moving the mouse there (and possibly clicking), or using Alt+Tab. At least that's my guess.
