Post by pravindra »

Dear Sir/Mam,
How can we import a PDF file into OOorg to edit the same, i have used "Sun-pdfimport.oxt" but purpose is not solved, there is some format problem, when i paste the slide from OOorg.Draw to OOorg.Impress then it sows some junk characters.

How to push back the tooth paste into the tube?
PDF is designed as output format. It stores absolutely nothing from the original application (spreadsheet, word processor, DTP, graphic tool, whatever). It has more in common with a picture, a screen shot of the original file, so it prints in the same layout on any system.

OOo's PDF import add-on is more like a demonstration what very clever programmers can achieve with a very clever document model (OOo vector graphics). It can not be perfect. Nevertheless it may be useful.

Adobe Acrobat is the program you need.

+1.

As Sun say, the PDF import extension is designed for such things as corrcxting very small typos, etc. Always better to modify the original document and create a new PDF.
