I don't know how to make something that looks and works like a regular GUI button, but you can add an interaction to any graphic shape or image, so that when you click the mouse on it, the show switches to that slide.

Select the object, right-cick and choose "Interaction", then Action at mouse click: Go to page or object, and pick your slide.

Oops--hold on--here's one way to make something that looks like a button:

Insert > Hyperlink
Further settings > Form: Button
Category: Document
Target: (click the target icon and choose "slide x")
Apply

Is there any way to make it so it both goes to a new slide and plays a sound?
