Objects disappear during motion path animation

Hi, my first post to the forum so I apologize if this is not the appropriate place for this post. I am doing a presentation involving motion path custom animations. The object animates nicely along my simple straight path but all other objects on the page disappear during the animation. Anyone know about this?

Have you read the Forum Survival Guide? What OOo version and what OS are you using?
