[Solved] the "INSERT SQUARE"

Post by Koster »

Hello. I honestly don't know what else to call it because I havent been able to find a single clue about what it supposed to be, in both the Impress and help docs and on the internet. Maybe I'm such stupid of a person but right now after about an hour this situation is becoming extremely irritating for me.

I have a presentation to create and this small toolset box in right at the middle of slide workspace, won't go. IT WON'T GO. HOW DO ONE TURN OFF THIS INSERT SQUARE IN THE MIDDLE? it stays on top of anything there, its annoying, uninteresting, blocking, and very frustrating.

First of all, what this thing is called, and how to remove it? I just can't continue my work like this since as you can also see if I want to edit the text, "perikles' behind it is unclickable..

Rather than a screenshot, provide a sample document.
Seems that pictures has been setting on master page instead of slide.

Note that you can upload files directly in this forum (useless to use an external host).

Hello Bidouille, sorry for late reply. Here's the file with which I'm experiencing that. that square floating toolbar in the middle that lets you add stuff on click won't go away and always stays on top. I'm not sure you might experience the same but my installation was fresh of latest build.

Upload limit was 2Mb, so external link again.

There are some interactive fields in your slides.

How to delete them:

Select any object and switch to the next one by clicking the tab key. Then delete the superfluous field(s) - in some slides you will find more than one.
Repeat the procedure on each of the defective slides.

It's a work of only some seconds.

Cheers

EDIT
Reason of the problems is the layout template.

Oooh... alright it has something to do with predefined layout boxes, its a feature per text box. Selecting an empty layout fixed it for me, or also tried your suggestion which also works.

Thanks so much for efforting with me sir.
