How to display Powerpoint files in Reading View?

Post by crayhunt »

Hi

I am new to Apache OpenOffice.
I am using macOS Catalina version 10.15.7 and Apache OpenOffice 4.1.7.
I have seen that Microsoft PowerPoint for Mac does not appear to have a Reading View for PowerPoint files.
This creates a problem for me.

My question is does Apache OpenOffice 4.1.7 have a Reading View for PowerPoint files?
The problem is that when I display PowerPoint slides in Apache OpenOffice 4.1.7, it takes up my entire desktop screen to display each slide.
I do not want this.
I want the PowerPoint display to take up only a small (configurable) part of my desktop screen(i.e. to display in its own window) and I want to use the remainder of my desktop screen to display other things.

Thanks, RH

In Impress, choose /Slide Show /Slide Show settings / and check "Window" under the Type settings. Then size the window as you wish.
