Error opening an openoffice document page

Post by Abdy »

1.-TITLE: Error opening an openoffice document page.

2.-Description: being able to open the previously saved document does not allow us to open it again.

3.- Precondition:

Ubuntu 20.04 unity operating system
open office v. 4.00
https://www.openoffice.org/en/download/

4.- Steps to get to reproduce the bug:
Open the open office.
Select in presentation.
Write any presentation.
Save the document.
Create another same file.
Within that file, reopen the previously saved document.
We see that the created file does not reopen us.
5.- Current result: The error that presents us does not allow us to open a previously saved document.
6.- Expected result: That you can open the previously saved document and not lose the saved document

Welcome to the Forums.
It is my belief, and I'm willing to be corrected, that this inability is not a bug, but a feature to keep modifications to a file consistent.
This is part, if not the full, reason for having the $lock files.
I do not recommend this, but, at your own risk, you could locate and delete the $lock file that is created when the file is opened, thus allowing you to re-open the same file multiple times, given that you have to delete the $lock file each time before you can re-open the already open file.
