Microsoft PowerPoint PPSX file format

I tried to open a PowerPoint presentation in the latest PPSX format using OpenOffice Impress, but the program does not recognise the file format.
Is there any intention to write a file filter or converter for this format so that OO will be able to read it? Presumably this format will be used widely in the future given Microsoft's strength in the Office software area.
