Is it possible to combine slides into groups? For example:
Introduction slides:
> slide 1
> slide 2
Section 1 slides:
> slide 1
> slide 2
> slide 3
> slide 4
Section 2 slides:
> slide 1
> slide 2
> slide 3
.. etc.

Re: Is it possible to combine slides into groups?
Do you want to apply different styles for the sections? Or what is the reason of this method, what do you mean as "section" or "group"?

Re: Is it possible to combine slides into groups?
Just merge slides into groups such as sections in a book.

The Impress document is a sequential slide serie. You can stop the playing, timing the slides if you want a gap between some groups of slides. I can not understand what is the point of your desired solution.

Re: Is it possible to combine slides into groups?
I can understand why one might think this desirable - One might wish to show a process, then the modification of it in a number of steps. Immediately I can think of a method - show the main slide, then animate the image(s) off, flying in new images as required. So instead of a group, one has a complex animated slide.
Investigation of the OpenOffice API might reveal slide characteristics that could be used to group discrete slides; I have not investigated the API for such characteristics.

Re: Is it possible to combine slides into groups?
It would be so comfortable for me. You can of course write in each slide name: Title.Slide1, Title.Slide2, Title.Slide3, Part1.Slide1, Part1.Slide2 etc. But it would be easier to divide the slides into groups.
In general there is no.

Re: Is it possible to combine slides into groups?
Title your slides in reverse:
Sausages_Overview
Sausages_Making_Stuffing
Sausages_Filling
Sausages_Cooking
Sausages_Eating
i.e., with the grouping keyword as the first word of the title and the ordering as the second or later keyword - consistency in naming will help.
It might be possible to group slides with a macro; it is certainly possible to group them to make a Custom Slide show; consideration of the low-level methods of doing this might allow another grouping, or, concatenation of a number of Custom slide shows, in each of which slides of a particular limited grouping were arranged. This could be an interesting project for someone who needed it.
