OpenOffice 4.1.7 hangs when trying to open a document

Since upgrading to Windows 11, I find that when I double-click on a Write file to open it, OpenOffice will open but the document will not. I must close the program (a message appears saying that Microsoft is being notified of the problem). Then when I immediately double-click the file again, it opens normally. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Problems with OpenOffice on Windows 11 are turning into a sort of thing on this forum. Best advice is to try LibreOffice and see how you do with that.
