[Solved] Help with corrupted .odt file

Post by toonces »

Hi everyone,

I'm new to OpenOffice and wasn't aware of the known bugs surrounding comments and the Record Changes feature. I edited and saved an important file for work (it's due today) and now I cannot retrieve the changes. When I try to open the file, I get the following error:

Read-Error
Format error discovered in the file sub-document context...

Great.

I've uploaded the damaged file to:
https://www.file.io/JQ7Z/download/9C6LcSeQQueY

Could somebody please help me fix it? I need it in .doc/.docx format. Thanks in advance.

You are strongly recommended to swap to LibreOffice where this and other bugs have been fixed.
LO 6.4.4.2, Windows 10 Home 64 bit

See the Writer Guide, the Writer FAQ, the Writer Tutorials and Writer for students.

Remember: Always save your Writer files as .odt files. - see here for the many reasons why.
