Disable filters when protecting a sheet

Post by ztodd »

Excel has an option to disable the filters when protecting a sheet. Does OpenOffice have the same? If no, is there any workaround to prevent users from using the filters?

Edit: Changed subject, was Disable filters

The 7.2.7.2 version is not OpenOffice, but that is LibreOffice. Please fix your signature.

Thanks, glad you were able to figure that out- boy, what a tragic mistake I made. Good job- catastrophe averted. </sarcasm>
I assume you have no idea then about the answer to my question. Anyone else?

The need for precision in your Forum signature is due to the difference in code bases between Open- and Libre-Office. An answer for one might not be correct for the other.

That's obvious, but if someone is worried about version differences, they ought to be checking version # anyways. Anyhow, let's please stop cluttering up this thread with non-answers. Send me a private message if you feel the need to continue arguing about this.

You're coming across as aggressive and impolite which discourages rather than encourages people from helping you.

A workaround would be to hide the menu and toolbar items

Another might be the Intercept menu commands using Basic section from Useful Macro Information For OpenOffice.org By Andrew Pitonyak

The user interface of the "Sheet protection" function in the LO and AOO are significantly different, but even the LibreOffice can not do directly what you want:
LibreOffice 7.3.5 ---------------------------------- Apache OpenOffice 4.1.13
LibreOffice 7.3.5 ---------------------------------- Apache OpenOffice 4.1.13

Try to use some tricks as a workaround - like JeJe suggested.
