[Solved] AOO 4.1.11 crashes on macOS

Just having installed OO 4.1.11 on macos catalina. Opening the same timesheet workbook I do every day, now OO quits "unexpectedly" after a few seconds. I thoroughly uninstalled OO using CleanMyMac and reinstalled from scratch. The error details mention segmentation fault, so suspecting memory or disk errors, I did complete memory check and surface scan using TechTool Pro, no errors. Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks for the tip. I booted in Safe Mode, launched OpenOffice and opened a one-page word Doc. A few seconds after displaying the document, it quit again. Switched back to NeoOffice for now, until some resolution is found.

I do not experience this problem, but others have. Read these posts about similar difficulties. Perhaps one will match your symptoms. Review [Tutorial] Mac FAQ, especially Q02/A02, Q15/A15, Q28/A28, and Q59/A59. If you solve the problem, I am interested in how you did that so I can update Mac FAQ.

Thanks much for all these references. I'm new to the forum, hadn't done much searching. I don't see any actual solutions among the threads, except the recommendation to switch to https://www.libreoffice.org/. Since I already use that on Ubuntu, and the Mac-only NeoOffice is funky, I'm going to try switching to LibreOffice.
