Installed AOO 4.1.9, can't open documents

I just installed the latest version 4.1.9 but I'm unable to open my documents.
OpenOffice 4.1.9 on Windows 10

How are you trying to "open my documents", and exactly what happens when you do that?
Slackware 15 64 bit
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.16
