I offered to go through what needs to be done to finish the migration of the batch script with Imacat. The offer is still open
As to the session table, yes truncating it is fine. The worst consequence is that users will need to log on again to establish persistent sessions.

Re: [Solved] New URLs and absolute/relative links
Yup, but unfortunately the regexp support in MySQL is limited to matching only rather than substitution, so you can't do this with a simple MySQL statement. You need to write a small batch script which does a select, mangle, update on the post table for all posts containing 'http://forum.openoffice....

Re: Italian Forum unreachable: SQL error
It's a one liner to repair the table -- if its repairable, but you need interactive access to the Forum server which I no longer have or want. This used to be done nightly by the backup/maintenance script. Unfortunately finishing migrating this was still on my todo list when I gave up the admin role...

Re: [Solved] New URLs and absolute/relative links
This substitution is pretty straight forward for someone who has command line access to the MySQL database. Perhaps Imacat can do this for you.RGB wrote:Of course this will not solve the problem of existing links

Re: OT and FYI: Article on security logons
Once we require the users to enter their OpenOffice version and check that the response contains "office" and "2." or "3." we have eliminated all generic phpBB registration attack bots. Yes, it is easily susceptible to specific-to-this-forum coded attack, but I very muc...

Yup. Only the ones internal to usooo. That's why we need a redirector. We already do this for the french NL forum.

Re: Forum Host Name
Imacat, sorry for the delayed response here. Changing the main forum domain is simply one of phpBB configuration -- or a simple MySQL update to all forums follows by a cache purge At a minimum we should implement a simple 301 redirector for usooo references using Apache mod_rewrite to avoid breaking...

I also welcome Shih-Ching's involvement. I've had an email exchange with her about knowledge transfer and will do my best to support her whilst she gets up to speed. I will take her though the to-do list left over from the migration including options to reintroduce the admin mailboxes. It's not a lo...

Request for Admin Status on the ZH forum
Sorry but I am still in "Lotus Eater" mode on my Greek Island. I've had a few requests from one of the ZH community members imacat, with the following request: Subject: 請幫忙設定論壇站管理者權限,謝謝 ^_*' 您好,我是依瑪貓/楊士青。久仰。我目前是Apache OpenOffice的PMC成員,並協助管理用戶論壇。可以麻煩請你把我加進論壇站的管理員嗎?謝謝。 ^_*' which roughly tra...

If you go into the Members View you can order by website and location, but not by signature. As acknak says, you need to do this by a MySQL query -- but this is really the subject of a wider topic.

Re: Forum's landing page still shows Oracle's logo
Yup I was wrong. I misread the post. It's a one line change to the landing page PHP script. Let's leave this as an exercise for the Apache guys, eh? Still the landing page lasted quite well saying as it was a temporary hack that I put together one evening to fill in whilst Drew wrote the proper vers...

Re: Sorry all, but I've decided to "throw in the towel"
Thanks for all of the comment and greetings here and by PM. It's a shame that I couldn't make it work with the Apache team, but the fact is that trying to work with a team of guys who work by some inflexible but unwritten rule book, and where you have to work out everything to do with working in the...

Sorry all, but I've decided to "throw in the towel"
This is really a codicil to the post of the same name in the archived / locked Site Governance forum. The context is my work on the infrastructure and to understand the background you'd need to look at the exchanges on the Apache infrastructure DLs and the #asfinfra IRC channel (except that most of ...

Re: Vietnamese forums are a spammers' paradise
I've been culling the spam posts and deleting the offending users. As a result of all this, I see that we don't actually have any real active posts left (even with a 1 year filter), so I don't think that the attribution "spammers' paradise" still applies. More of a dead parrot!

The nameservers that are relevant for resolving the hostname of this forum are still oracle.com servers? Is this going to change at some later time? Re: Forum Cut-over
The phpBB architecture ignores the inbound request hostname as a security measure and uses the one set in the configuration -- in this case user.services.openoffice.org . We're sort of in a limbo now waiting for Oracle to update the DNS record. I did a quick mailshot to let the main players know about this URI, but it isn't widely known and this is probably a good thing as we will be switching back to usOOo ASAP. My mailshot was based on a mine of mail address of all...

[Solved] Forum Cut-over
It looks as if Oracle are proposing to turn off the usOOo server this weekend, so the forum has to move before then. The constraint is that I don't have an exact DNS A record change time from Andrew. So I will take a snapshot now for safety. When I do get this time of the A record change, then ahead...
