Re: Very Limited Quality of Export-Selection Images?
Thanks for that comment. Am I on the right forum for LibO? After a lot more trial & error, I can now see what is happening (roughly). When I select best image quality with the Quality slider pushed to 100, it sets the resolution to 37dpi & produces a 19.02cm x 12.86cm 346.6kB image with 719 ...

Very Limited Quality of Export-Selection Images?
I often use Draw to produce annotated versions of small photographs (adding arrows & text mostly) & have been satisfied with the process as being much simpler than using, for instance Gimp. My method is to open a new Draw document, insert a JPEG image, add required text etc, group the additi...

Re: Calc Window Freeze Lost on Re-opening
As I said in by original post, I am having the problem with LibreOffice 4.2.7.2.
I have not been back to check any of my other versions, but I think this only started fairly recently (weeks?).

Re: Calc Window Freeze Lost on Re-opening
Ah! In trying to find a non-confidential chart with the problem, I have done a lot of manipulating & have clarified what is happening. I often use Calc with windows unmaximized to a shallow height, so I can also see other windows. If I have set Window Freeze, then if I raise the bottom edge of t...

Calc Window Freeze Lost on Re-opening
Many of my Calc documents use the Window Freeze feature to keep column headings visible over long columns. I have been using the feature continuously for years, through Excel, OpenOffice then LibreOffice. Recently (days/weeks?) I find that the Freezing is sometimes lost when I re-open Calc documents...

No - I made a clean start, just bringing over my data.
Then I manually copied over my custom toolbars, but nothing else.

Re: Window Unmaximize Button - Erratic Behaviour.
For other reasons, I replaced my very old PC by a new one. After a fresh installation of 14.04.1 & using Unity, I no longer have the erratic window behaviour. All windows unmaximise as expected. But I shall never know what caused the original problem or what fixed it! Best of luck with finding a...

Well - I have 2 computers with a number of different OS's & different versions of OOo & LibO, so I have just been through all of them to see which ones work OK & which ones don't. Results: OK Desktop - XP - OOo 3.3.0 Netbook - W7 - LibO 3.3.4 Netbook - Ubuntu 12.04.4 Unity - LibO 3.5.7.2...

Re: Window Unmaximize Button - Erratic Behaviour.
8 months later & now on LibO 4.1.3.2 with Ubuntu 13.10 & still plagued by the same crazy behaviour. So long as I remember to unmaximise windows before closing them, I can keep a normal (smaller) size unmaximised window next time. If ever I close a window from maximised, or open a new documen...

[Solved] Page Breaks always visible in Normal View
Hi! Recently (since upgrading to Ubuntu 13.10 with LibO 4.1.3.2 ?) I am annoyed to find my Calc sheets cluttered with Page Breaks, even in Normal View. These page breaks appear as thin black lines & introduce confusion with any borders I have applied. To confirm that this is new behaviour, I wen...

One year later, upgrade Ubuntu from 12.10 to 13.04 & exactly the same problem with LibO - lost all my custom toolbars again!
Has somebody found the solution in the meantime?
Thanks!

Re: Window Unmaximize Button - Erratic Behaviour.
I keep digging into this new problem. Another aspect is: If I unmaximize a window (by whatever means), I can then maximize/unmaximize as much as I want with no problem, so long as I don't close the file. If I quit a file with the window unmaximized, then re-open the file within the same session, it ...

Re: Window Unmaximize Button - Erratic Behaviour.
Yes, I am familiar with how it should work, after many years of PCs, thanks. But in this particular case it does not work like that. I can maximize the window normally, but when I try to unmaximize it, there is then no way of pulling the window edges. The button icon changes OK to show it is unmaxim...

[Solved] Window Unmaximize Button - Erratic Behaviour
I have been using OpenOffice then LibreOffice for years in XP & in Ubuntu. Currently I am using LibreOffice 3.6.2.2 in Ubuntu 12.10 with Xfce desktop. Just recently (can't match with anything) I started seeing strange behaviour. When using the Unmaximize button, instead of reducing the window to...

LibO Calc - Sort Current Range without Prompt?
I understand why Calc asks me if I want to extend the range when I try to sort data with only part of it selected & I am happy that should be the default behaviour. But it so happens that I want to sort just parts of my data frequently & I am prepared to take responsability for not making a ...

Re: LibreOffice lost Toolbar Customization at Upgrade.
Thanks, RoryOF, for your reply, but it does not help or reassure me much! Basically, every Ubuntu user gets LibO as standard now & every Ubuntu user (except those sticking with LTS) needs to upgrade Ubuntu every 6 months, presumably with a LibO upgrade each time too. So everybody has to re-do to...

LibreOffice lost Toolbar Customization at Upgrade.
I just upgraded Ubuntu from 11.10 to 12.04 which has taken LibO to 3.5.4.2.
During this upgrade, LibreOffice has lost all the Customizations I had made to all the toolbars.
Is this normal?
Can I find my old settings somewhere?
How can I avoid it happening next time?
Thanks!

Re: [SOLVED] LibO Writer: Can't set default language for doc
I think you checked the "Current document only" box too which modifies the currently edited template. No I didn't, so I wonder which other documents are affected? That's not a problem for me. As soon as you start organizing your own templates, the language setting is one of the many attri...

[Solved] LibO Writer: Can't set default language for docs
My default UI language is English & I want to keep it that way. But for spell-checking, I would like the default to be French. So I tried Tools > Options > Language Settings > Languages > Default Languages for documents > Western >>> French (France) > OK. It has the blue check mark. I did not ch...

Re: LibO Calc: Paste-special macro - wrong result...
Thanks, JohnSUN-Pensioner, for your custom macro! It certainly copies down the last line & keeps the correct cell references. It does not actually do what I need though, which maybe I did not explain clearly enough. I use the "Paste-special, with Shift-cells-Down" method because I have...

LibO Calc: Paste-special macro - wrong result...
I have numerous Calc files where I regularly update data by copy/pasting the last line (of data & derived results) by "Copy - Paste Special - Shift cells - Down" before updating a few cells. Tiring of the repetition, I thought this was a good candidate for recording a tiny Macro & ...

The file could not be written
Back in 1999 or so, in XP, I created an Excel spreadsheet for my personal accounts. It soon got to be quite big with over 25 sheets & several macros (but only around 200KB). I use it all the time & branch off a new version every year, keeping the old ones for reference. I have been dual-boot...

In my current version of LibreOffice Draw (3.4.4) I can no longer find the very useful Drawing Toolbar Buttons for Group/Ungroup/Enter-Group/Exit-Group. I am not quite sure how & when they disappeared, but I still have them in OpenOffice Draw 3.3.0. Have I just missed something, or is it a mista...

Thanks very much, RGB!
In Synaptic, under 'libreoffice-style' I had a choice of Crystal, Tango, Oxygen & Galaxy.
None very brilliant, but I chose Galaxy which seems clearer to me than the others.
Call this [SOLVED] & thanks again!
