The description of the problem does suggest that the keyboard layout may be set to US-International instead of US.

Re: Blank Page Partially Covering Text
OO inserts a "partial" page partially covering a page in which I've inserted a picture. It isn't a page. It's some type of object like a frame, picture or draw object. Pages are always rendered sequentially, not covering other pages. I'm unable to remove the partial page to reveal the tex...

Re: Widen Save As file name field
I am afraid I have forgotten how to widen the slot holding the name of the OOW file to be saved... The "slot" where the file name is entered is usually called a "box" because it is a combo box. A combo box is a combination of an editable box and a drop-down list. On the Save As ...

Re: Making entries in separate columns independent of other columns
The data in the source document is on a 3-column page. AFAIK, there is no way to make Writer convert this directly to a 3-column table. You can select the data then use Table > Convert > Text to Table first to convert the data to a 1-column table. You can then copy each part of the data and paste it...

Is pixman installed on your system? It's not on mine.
Edit: I've found that libpixman is installed on my system, but I don't know if it would be used by LO since I've removed the version of LO installed by my distribution.

Re: Navigator Headings's Levels Shown keeps reverting
I don't see an option in either AOO or LO to limit the display of headings in the Navigator to level 3 headings. Selecting "3" in the screen shot provided by Hagar displays " up to level 3", so it displays 3 levels of headings (level 1, level 2, level 3), not just level 3 headings.
