Re: OOo v3.1 Draw is Still Really slow now

I eventually switched to inkscape, as OoO 3.1.x is unusable for me too and I lacked time to further investigate

Re: OOo v3.1 Draw is Still Really slow now

So... - system upgraded to ubuntu 9.04 (fresh install over the existing partition) - user profile removed - fresh install from openoffice.org .debs (3.1.1) Same problem : create new document, create 8x15 table, and that's it, the system takes several second for any redraw. (the same happens with any...

Re: OOo v3.1 Draw is Still Really slow now

Currently upgrading the whole system to ubuntu 9.04, new install over my current 8.04, I'll see whether this solves the problem....

Re: [Solved] Paste table : any way to preserve formatting ?

Maybe, but need more control than just paste it. I have a page layout with a background, and want to have table background to be transparent shades of white and black so the page BG shows trough. A simple matter with transparent png graphics as they can be further prepped in gimp or inkscape. PDF's ...

Re: OOo v3.1 Draw is Still Really slow now

I was the original poster for this problem. I noticed that a large part of the problem for me was the grid and when I turned the grid off, things improved. However, Draw was still slower than previous versions. With OOo v3.1.1 I think that I noticed a very slight improvement in speed whether the gr...

Re: OOo v3.1 Draw is Still Really slow now

Do you run the Ubuntu version or the Sun version of OOo? I like the latter the most. Have you tried to reset your OOo user profile ? But during the welcome process, don't transfer your personal data (if you had 2.x), former configuration files might corrupt the new profile. I tried just that, no ch...

Re: Paste table : any way to preserve formatting ?

Acknack, the paste as worked fine, thanks a lot ! Scribus does not support table imports yet, so all tables in a text document are converted to text. Table support in scribus is still very early so the best option is to convert all tables to graphics files (svg or bitmaps) and then import them in Sc...

[Solved] Paste table : any way to preserve formatting ?

I have a big ;odt document i need to move to Scribus. This means all tables must be prepped and saved apart from the text. When I copy a table from the writer document and paste it in draw, the text is right, but all cell backgrounds are removed and changed to a blue 'style'. How can I disable this ...

Re: OOo v3.1 Draw is Still Really slow now

Same problem here, it's so slow I can't use it anymore. I use ubuntu 8.04 LTS, with OoO 3.1.0 (and now 3.1.1, same problem after upgrade). If I just start OoO draw, do 'insert table' and create a 8x15 table, it's repeatably slow : click to select table, drag-move it, and wait several seconds for red...

Re: OOo v3.1 Draw is REEEAAAALLLLYYY slow now.

It's there, in your screenshot : 'Options'.
oootoolbaroptions.jpg
This'll bring you an options toolbar, and the next to last item is the 'full drag' toggle.

Re: OOo v3.1 Draw is REEEAAAALLLLYYY slow now.

I eventually emailed armin legrand, who provided me with the following info : - antialiasing can be disabled in tools/options/view/enable antialiasing - 'full drag' can be disabled in view/toolbars/options (last to next item) However this ain't the cause of the slowness :p it's because somehow hardw...

Re: OOo v3.1 Draw is REEEAAAALLLLYYY slow now.

I have the same problem since I upgraded. Any document that is the least bit complex becomes unbearably slow. try opening a couple pictures, then draw some circles and rectangles on it, make some translucent and a gradient or two and it slows down to a crawl for the simplest object moves. is there a...
