Associate each colour with a number [as in VLOOKUP()]. So, in column B you might have 1,1,2,2,2,3. Then find the Mode(s) for that column.

Perhaps it does so because it IS larger? With a character in A1, put =CODE(A1) in B1 and you'll see.

A database file can be saved as CSV or other formats. Try that and then open that CSV into the program on the other computer.

The thing is, the RTF standard may be owned by Microsoft, but unlike DOC, it's an open specification. It shouldn't too hard to do. If this wasn't a troll, it certainly looks like one now. A tempest in a teapot. Someone needs to get a life, and stop wasting time with such trivia. There are many FAR more important issues in this life to think about than a slight thickening of grid lines in selected cells. I see no difference in O...

I downloaded the Excel #2 file and ran it using MS Word for the Mac. It appeared with a white background, thin gridlines, and black lettering. Sorry, I can't do more from here as I don't see what you are seeing. I'll try later on the PC with OpenOffice.

Re: Using subtotals with cells having formulas ?
I can understand formatting time of day as 1:30, or 13:30, perhaps, but if doing calculations such as you indicate, is it not more feasible to have data as minutes only [plain numbers], even if calculated from times of day? Then subtotals might be simpler.

Why don't you just record the hours worked as you go along? There is, though, a way to recognise weekdays by number, I believe. You might look up the WEEKDAY() function in the Help file.

OK, this effort is gross, but for what its worth... You might use a 24 hour clock [e.g. 17:00 instead of 5:00PM.] In D2 have =60*(HOUR(C1)-HOUR(B1))+(MINUTE(C2)-MINUTE(B2)) Copy down column D. I'd do it from scratch using the word processor, as a form, not the spreadsheet. The only thing that you'd need to copy/paste would be the logo. All you've done here is to copy an image to the spreadsheet, which accomplishes nothing really.
